Oklahoma mobile home move permit
ODOT issues size and weight permits, and a manufactured home permit is $40.00. Oklahoma Tax Commission rules require the current registration decal, so taxes come first.
Who issues the permit
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) issues size and weight permits from its Oklahoma City office at 200 NE 21 St, with a field location in Tulsa.
Before ordering permits, a company profile must be filed with a copy of the applicant's driver's license so the company can be set up in ODOT's permit system.
ODOT says a permit is needed for anything over 13 feet 6 inches high or 8 feet 6 inches wide, with length limits that vary by vehicle type.

Fee
ODOT's fee schedule lists $40.00 for a manufactured home, modular home or house under single trip and monthly permits.
A load that is both oversize and overweight is listed at $80.00, plus $10 for each 1,000 pounds over the legal limit.
Escorts and towing vehicles
Homes no more than 10 feet wide need an overwidth permit only when their overall length is over 70 feet, and the towing vehicle must be a truck rated three quarter ton or more.
For homes 12 to 14 feet wide, the towing truck must be rated at least two tons with dual rear wheels. A front escort is required on two lane and super two lane roads, and a rear escort on multi lane highways.
Homes more than 14 and up to 18 feet wide need both front and rear escorts on two lane and super two lane roads, and a rear escort on multi lane highways.
Homes more than 18 feet wide may not be permitted on the Interstate System and must be towed by a tandem axle truck of at least 220 horsepower.
Every manufactured home permit requires the "Oversize Load" sign and red flags under ODOT's sign and flag rule.
When the home can travel
Oversize loads move in daylight only, from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset.
Oversize loads may not use the Interstate System in Cleveland, Oklahoma and Tulsa counties from 7 to 9 a.m. and from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday.

Taxes before the permit
Oklahoma Tax Commission rules bar a move permit for a manufactured home without proof of current calendar year registration and decal. The rule text names the Department of Public Safety as the permit office; ODOT issues the permits today.
A current OTC Form 936 with the current year decal attached also works as proof.
The rule exempts holders of a dealer "M" tag or a transporter "K" tag, homes in Oklahoma for less than 60 days with tax receipts from the home state, and repossessed homes moved under a repossession affidavit.
